Lace Strings are a string quartet that will add magical, musical sparkle and elegance to your special day. Our players have years of experience between them providing music for events and weddings with delighted customers across Bristol, Cardiff and the South West.

 

With your favourite tunes and unique ideas we will work with you to create the perfect live music to enhance your ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Our ever expanding repertoire covers classical, jazz, film and modern pop arrangements that your guests will love.

Our Story

Meet the Artists

lacestrings, a Bristol-based string quartet, was founded in 2024 with a passion for creating beautiful musical moments at weddings and special functions. Our talented musicians are dedicated to delivering exceptional performances that resonate with every listener.

Below are the core members who are joined by other players from time to time.

Helen Pidoux

Helen is a BMus graduate in Violin performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Helen currently works with the Bristol Ensemble Preludes and for Bristol Beacon as an orchestral tutor alongside freelance violin work.

Helen Stevens

Helen studied with Gillian Springate (Royal Shakespeare Company). She has an MA from St. Andrew’s University and a PGCEi in group music teaching from Birmingham City University. She currently works for Bristol Beacon, is a core member of Bristol Classical Players and a freelance violinist for weddings and shows.

Sophie XXXX

Sophie has a Masters in Viola Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (studying with Louise Williams). She plays with the Cardiff Philharmonic and is a freelance violist for shows.

Ewelina Frackowska

Ewelina has an MA in cello performance from Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Poland. She is a qualified Suzuki teacher and works for the Bristol Beacon.
